Ingredients

  • ½ cup Margarine

  • ½ cup Butter

  • 1 cup Brown Sugar Powder

  • ½ cup Caster Sugar

  • ½ cup Baking Soda

  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence

  • 2 cups Flour

  • ½ cup Cocoa Powder

  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips

  • 1 cup Walnuts, finely chopped

  • 3 large or 4 small Eggs

Directions

  • Sieve together the flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda twice to ensure an even mix.
  • In a large bowl, beat the margarine and butter until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the eggs and beat for about 2 minutes until well combined.
  • Stir in the brown sugar, caster sugar, vanilla essence, and the sieved dry ingredients.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts using a wooden spoon.
  • Drop the dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C for 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned.
  • Remove and cool the cookies on a wire rack until completely set.
